HIKING TEST IN THE ARDENNES

In The Netherlands one has The Veluwe - and in Belgium one has the Ardennes. Both countries do actually only have one bigger nature reserve each - and the Ardennes are more impressive than The Veluwe.

So when Gricha, Erwin and I decided to do a trial hike as a preparation to a tour in The Alps, we thought immediately of The Ardennes. So in 1996 we drove to the Ardennes and hiked some days from campsite to campsite.

Well, what can I say. Really into nature you are never really, you will always hear a car or see a house or another human being. And of course it rained almost non-stop, so it was a very wet affair. The nicest about the whole tour was the Duvel beer which we drank afterwards in a cafe...
