Europe: a continent for culture buffs. Every single country is rich in its cultural background and many do wonder through centuries old cities, amazed by so much cultural richness. See the remains of the Roman Empire in Italy, indulge yourself in ancient Greek ruins and cities, get impressed by the powers of Britain and enjoy the wonders of the great artists of The Netherlands. But Europe is more than that: countries like Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, Norway and Hungary might be less known, but each and everyone of them has something to offer. And each and everyone of them is so much different from the other. There is no other continent in the world where countries are so compacted but are so unique. The English are very English, the French are so very French, the Italians are like nobody else and the Germans are real Germans.

So roam the continent and enjoy world cities like Paris, Rome, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Vienna. Or visit world renown areas like Florence in Italy, the Riviera in France, the Highlands of Scotland, the Fjords of Norway, the Alps of Switzerland and the Pyrenees of Spain. For real nature lovers Europe has things to offer but you will have to look for them: the overpopulated area is not really suitable for huge nature reserves. However, you might enjoy hiking the Alps or Pyrenees, visit the beaches on the Baleares, search for the wisent (Europe's bison) in Bialowieza forest in Poland (Europe's last primary forest) or enter the Arctic Circle with a dogsled in Norway, Sweden or Finland.

Although our travels are more extensive outside Europe, we are sure that this chapter might be nicely filled in the years to come. Click on one of the countries listed below.

Europa: een werelddeel voor cultuurfreaks. Elk land in Europa heeft een rijk cultureel verleden en velen bezoeken eeuwenoude steden and verbazen zich over zoveel culturele rijkdom. Neem bijvoorbeeld the overblijfselen van het Romeinse Rijk in Italie, the beroemde ruines van de Grieken, de kracht van het Britse Rijk of the grote schilders van Nederland. Maar Europa is meer dan de grote namen. Landen zoals Ierland, IJsland, Portugal, Noorwegen en Hongarije zijn wellicht minder bekend, maar allen hebben ze veel te beiden voor haar bezoekers. En elk land in Europa is ook zo verschillend van elkaar. Er is geen ander werelddeel waar de culturele verschillen zo groot zijn en de landen zo (relatief) klein. De Engelsen zijn zeer Engels, de Fransen zo mogelijk nog Franser dan Frans, de Italianen zijn niet te vergelijken en de Duitsers zijn… Duitsers.

Dus reis rond door dit werelddeel en geniet van wereldsteden als Parijs, Rome, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona of Wenen. Of bezoek beroemde gebieden zoals Florence in Italie, de Riviera in Frankrijk, de Hooglanden van Schotland, de Fjorden van Noorwegen, de Alpen van Zwitserland en de Pyreneen in Spanje. Voor echte natuurliefhebbers Europa heeft een en ander te bieden maar je moet er wel voor op zoek gaan: het overbevolkte Europa is niet echt meer geschikte voor grootschalige natuurgebieden. Niettemin kan je wandelen en klimmen in de Alpen en Pyreneen, genieten van de stranden op de Balearen, op zoek gaan naar de wisent (Europese bison) in het Bialowieza woud in Polen (Europa's laatste primaire bos) of ga naar de poolcirkel met een hondenslede in Noorwegen, Zweden of Finland.
