WHAT?
What did I think of all these countries that I have visited? Obviously
a very difficult question. Why would Alaska be nicer than Uganda?
What's so different about Nicaragua? Why would one go to Cambodia
and not to Egypt?
However, humans wouldn't be the way they are if they wouldn't
look for short and sweet answers. A justification for their choice
of travel. So that is exactly what I will try to do here. Each
country we have visited we have valued on the following factors:
- People/Inhabitants (15)
- Landscape/Nature (15)
- Transport/Infrastructure (5)
- Wildlife (15)
- Food (5)
- Climate (10)
- Culture (15)
- Hygiene (5)
- Cost of Traveling (5)
- Safety/Stability (10)
Each factor will be shortly described and valued on a scale from
0 to 10. The score for each factor will be calculated to its weight
(see above) based on how important I think the factor is. Than,
at last, the final total will be adjusted according to the score
to a last very important factor (as far as I am concerned): The
Excitement, The Adventure and The Challenge to travel in the particular
country. The final result is a score anywhere between 0 and 10.
Based on the above my top 10 is as follows:
- Uganda 9.00
- Guatemala 8.70
- Namibia 8.65
- Indonesia 8.60
- Zimbabwe 8.60
- Mali 8.50
- Zambia 8.50
- Peru 8.50
- Tanzania 8.40
- Madagascar 8.35

WAT?
Wat vind ik van al die landen die ik bereisd heb? Welke vond ik
het leukst, welke het minst leuk en waarom? Natuurlijk een erg moeilijke
vraag. Waarom is Alaska nu zo leuker dan Oeganda? Wat is er nu zo
leuk aan Nicaragua? Waarom zou je naar Cambodja gaan en niet naar
Egypte?
Mensen zouden geen mensen zijn als ze niet op zoek waren naar
de makkelijkste weg: een snel en kort antwoord. Een rechtvaardiging
voor hun land van keuze. En dat is precies wat ik heb proberen
te doen hier. Elk land dat ik bezocht heb is gewaardeerd op basis
van de volgende factoren:
- Mensen/Inwoners (15)
- Landschap/Natuur (15)
- Transport/Infrastructuur (5)
- Wildlife/Dieren (15)
- Eten (5)
- Klimaat (10)
- Cultuur (15)
- Hygiene (5)
- Prijsniveau (5)
- Veiligheid/Stabiliteit (10)
Elke factor zal kort beschreven worden and gewaardeerd op een schaal
van 0 tot 10. Deze score wordt gekoppeld aan een weging (zie boven)
die is vastgesteld op basis van het belang van de factor (zoals
ik die ervaar). Uiteindelijk wordt de totale score gewaardeerd tegen
een laatste, zeer belangrijke reis-factor (zoals ik erover denk):
Spanning, Avontuur en Uitdaging van een reis in het betreffende
land. De uiteindelijke score is ergens tussen 0 en 10, een rapportcijfer
dus.
